Effective as of close of business on May 16, 2011, the Heartland Value Plus Fund will be closed to certain new investors.
The closing is intended to promote long-term investments in the Fund, thereby contributing to a more stable asset base and the continued efficient management of the Fund. This decision was made after considering the current size of the Fund and the availability of common stocks of smaller companies that meet the Fund’s investment criteria.
Notwithstanding the closing of the Fund, for Financial Professionals who wish to use the fund on behalf of their clients, the following represent the most pertinent exceptions to the close:
See the Prospectus Supplement for a detailed description of these and other exceptions to the close. Please call us directly at 1-888-881-0882 with any questions you might have.
The Value Plus Fund invests in stocks of small companies that generally are more volatile and less liquid than those of larger companies. Value investments are subject to the risk that their intrinsic values may not be recognized by the broad market. The Fund also invests in a smaller number of stocks (generally 40 to 70) than the average mutual fund. The performance of these holdings generally will increase the volatility of the Fund’s returns.
